Phil Dearden

Phil has more than 30 years of experience in capacity development (CD) for international development in over 50 countries. He has worked as a facilitator/trainer, programme/project manager, and organisational development consultant in a wide range of sectors, including: agriculture, forestry, environment, climate change, trade, governance, rural livelihoods, education and health.

Phil is an experienced trainer in Results-Based Management (RBM), including the Programme and Project Cycle Management (PPCM), in Results Frameworks and the Logical Framework Approach (LFA). He has undertaken extensive: design and appraisal work, including strategy and policy formulation; evaluations and participatory assessments; institutional and organisational analysis; and consultancies involving training, facilitation of high-level meetings and learning events, and lecturing at University level.

Phil’s clients include a large variety of international agencies and donors in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Central and Latin America, and Asia. This includes the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and World Trade Organization (WTO) at headquarters and country levels – among others.
