Forest sector stakeholders now have a methodology for assessing transparency in the sector. This evaluation methodology was developed by Forêts et Développement Rural(FODER) with the technical support of a consultant from the firm Brightway Sarl, Félicien Kengoum, who is a forest and climate governance expert. This methodology was developed in the framework of the CV4C project with financial support from the European Union and the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

The evaluation methodology developed by FODER was developed and adopted on 12 July 2019 by Forest sector stakeholders. Important areas that can be addressed in the assessment of transparency in the forest sector include: 1) land and forest tenure, 2) forest land use planning, 3) forest management, 4) income forestry and economic incentives.
