Coaching for Development
Course overview
An important facet of leadership is the ability to mentor, delegate and coach colleagues and team members. This training will help to tailor your personal style of coaching and management to meet the needs of the individual you are coaching or managing. By the end of the training you will be equipped with a toolkit to support the role played by managers in facilitating effective performance and delivery. As part of the training you will practice, reflect on and receive constructive peer-feedback on your their own skills in a range of realistic workplace scenarios – including performance appraisal, coaching and work- based conflict management.

Course objectives
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Build rapport-building and active listening skills
- Practice coaching skills
- Identify personal drivers and assess your own skills in motivating others.
- Give supportive and constructive performance feedback to staff
- Diagnose and manage workplace conflict.
Approach
Our courses utilise a variety of methodologies, such as role play, reflective questionnaire, case studies, reflective journal, participatory analysis tools and much more. We design programmes to include a useful mix of hard and soft skills, combining practical tools and tips with brief ‘theoretical’ inputs where relevant. At CIDT we are great believers in experiential learning. Therefore our courses and workshops are very participatory and active in nature, so be prepared to share your ideas, experiences, problems, challenges and practices with other. We also believe that learning should be fun – so please also bring your sense of humor with you!
