Capacity building workshop around gender focal points takes place in Cameroon

From 14-18 May 2018, a capacity-building workshop for gender focal points on the development of a gender strategy was held in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

As part of the CV4C project, an assessment of gender training needs in the project partner organisations during the first year of implementation highlighted a need to strengthen capacity around the gender tools and to support for the development of a gender strategy within each organisation.

Furthermore, with a view to strengthening the capacity of these focal points to carry out this role, this workshop equipped them with necessary knowledge, tools and confidence to lead a workshop to develop a gender strategy within their respective organisations and platforms with which they collaborate. During the workshop, the designated focal points were able to begin the process of developing their gender strategies alongside the two Cameroonian project partners, who helped to validate the test the methodologies and facilitation techniques they will implement..
