Dr Canford Chiroro works in rural development, agriculture, food security, climate change and natural resource governance, and specialises in providing technical advice in strategy, program and policy design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and institutional capacity development. Canford has over seven years’ experience in international development management, research and training. Prior to joining the CIDT, Canford was a research fellow at the University of Sussex for a DFID-ESRC funded research on Inclusive Growth, Agriculture and Water Governance. Canford holds a PhD degree in Environment and Society. His doctoral research explored the practical application of resilience thinking in development policy and management. He also holds an MSc degree in Development and Project Planning and a BSc degree in Agriculture. He has field experience in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Tanzania.
